Baby wipes are for everything

We have recently started our kitchen refurb. This is something that has been in the plan for a long long time. I was avoiding having to do it because, quite frankly, I couldn’t bear the thought that I was going to be without a kitchen for several weeks. How would we feed the kids? Would we have water? And heating?

Finally there was a trigger that told me enough was enough. I saw a slug in my kitchen. That was it. Measures had to be taken.

And so here we are, in the middle of it. My living room is a mess. There are boxes in every free corner of the house, etc.

When they first started the job, they put dust sheets over the entrance of the kitchen (we don’t have a door). Unfortunately, what we didn’t notice is that there was a whole in the sheet.

When the electrician came to do the wiring, there was a lot of drilling. And a lot of dust. I was working from the office upstairs with the door closed and when I came out a couple of hours later, it was like a cloud of dust had landed in my house.

I tried to think positive (as I have for the last 2 weeks) and thought “it’s fine, we’ll clean it later”. Until I saw my beautiful high boots in the cupboard under the stairs covered in dust. There was dust even inside the boots!

This morning I wanted to wear them so I grabbed the baby wipes. You can pretty much guess that I used a few of them and they were cleaned inside and out in a jiffy.

My husband leaned over and said “gosh, you really can use baby wipes for everything. You should write a blog post about that”. I replied “I don’t think I need to talk about that. All Moms know that you can use wipes to clean just about anything”.

“Yeah, but Dads don’t. And if a Dad like me is going to read your blog, we need to be in the know about stuff like this”.

And there you have it. A blog post about wipes. Dads, enjoy! 😉
